ECCP Online Information Session Responding to the Oil and Energy Situation: Guidance for the Private Sector
Recent global developments, particularly the escalating geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, have heightened concerns over oil supply disruptions, price volatility, and broader energy security risks for import-dependent economies such as the Philippines.
In response, the Department of Energy (DOE), together with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), recently conducted a nationwide executive briefing for Local Government Units (LGUs) to outline contingency measures, fuel monitoring protocols, and energy conservation strategies.
Given the direct implications of these developments on business operations, there is a strong need to extend similar guidance to the private sector.
Objective
To provide ECCP members and the broader business community with:
- Timely updates on the current energy situation and outlook
- Clarity on government contingency measures and policy directions
- Practical guidance for businesses on energy conservation, risk mitigation, and operational planning
